And here it begins......

I'm starting the process of authenticating my documents (degrees, teaching certificate, letter of experience). As a model student would do, I did my research. I mulled over posts in the blogs I'm a member, used the resources at my finger tips (Google) as I always tell my students. I learned the general steps:
  1. Secretary of State Authentication
  2. U.S. Department of State 
  3. UAE Embassy
Yep sounds easy, got it! Haha! Not at all! Continuing on with my research, I head to the Alabama Secretary of State website and see what is needed from me to gain the beautiful seal of authentication. Yea....add some steps above that...documents must be notarized and signed by the probate judge of the county in which the notary is located. Ok...cool, let's move on to the probate judge site and make sure they don't need anything special. Of course they do! The documents MUST be notarized by a notary of the institution who granted document of authentication! Excuse me, what?! SO I have to find a notary on the university's campus (grateful she was there and semi-accommodating), AND find one in the either the County Department of Ed or in the State Dept of Ed (that was hard, luckily my principal's mom is a notary!!)??? 


Whew this is too much. Everyone keeps mentioning this ProEx company. I contact the company and they give me a quote of $326 to get the documents notarized! I think, I'll just walk it through myself! My birthday is coming up as well as my Spring Break trip! I think I'm going to try the envelope in an addressed envelope with more addressed envelopes method. Of course there will be tracking and I'll spring for overnight shipping.

To top it all off the secretary e-mailed me today to "remind" me they need said documents. I have to remember August will be here before I know it!

Before I received my offer letter, I started furnishing my flat/apartment! Don't judge me! Like for real, IKEA has always been a love of mine, but now...I can't stay off of the site! I've designed and redesigned at least 3 times now! I get upset when items are out of stock (like I'll be there to purchase them tomorrow *rolls eyes*). I just can't help it! I love fashion, I love design, I love black and white with a bold color (like lime green :D)  I even started my to pack list! LOL All my maxi dresses, and skirts 2 denim jackets, a few blazers (different styles of course), I made a mental note of my skirts for work that are BELOW the knee (oooh this one has made me take my fashion in a different direction). My students loved this pink skirt I wore last week. Process Toward Progress

This has become my mantra in life. I have taken necessary steps to educate myself academically and professionally,  but I knew I needed to improve myself personally. My friends would describe me as a good person with a hard exterior. I believed I had good reason to be this way. I was once the person who was too kind and forgiving to everyone and my kindness was taken for weakness. Over time I began to look at life through tainted lenses. I take no mess, I am impatient,  and rarely believe in second chances. I'd fly off the handle and give you a piece of my mind with no regard of your feelings, or situation-- very apathetic.  A conversation with someone who was a "friend" at the time sort of made my oblivious music of life come to a screeching halt.
