The Saga Continues

Oh Em Gee! You would not believe all it took to get these documents authenticated by the probate! Great thing I found a notary in the state Department of Education (thanks to my principal and her connects). Bad part: her bond is in a neighboring county. I contact the other county's probate office and was informed they  close at 4 o'clock. It was 3:20! The lovely lady who notarized my degrees wasn't found in the notary system in my county! Sweet Candace (the lady at the probate office) took down my information and promised to look a little further into the notary's information, as she was showing in the system for a host of other things. I was so sure on my way to the neighboring county I'd get a speeding ticket (I didn't). I made it with 10 minutes to spare! I pay the six dollars to get my two documents authenticated. You will never believe that Candace called me back! She found the notary's information and they didn't close until five. I headed back to ...

Before I received my offer letter, I started furnishing my flat/apartment! Don't judge me! Like for real, IKEA has always been a love of mine, but now...I can't stay off of the site! I've designed and redesigned at least 3 times now! I get upset when items are out of stock (like I'll be there to purchase them tomorrow *rolls eyes*). I just can't help it! I love fashion, I love design, I love black and white with a bold color (like lime green :D)  I even started my to pack list! LOL All my maxi dresses, and skirts 2 denim jackets, a few blazers (different styles of course), I made a mental note of my skirts for work that are BELOW the knee (oooh this one has made me take my fashion in a different direction). My students loved this pink skirt I wore last week. They said it gave them old school teacher!  ALL of my cardigans as it may be cold in the building, or my shirt may be sleeveless (shhh don't tell on me!) Shoes! Don't forget shoes! Sanda...

And here it begins......

I'm starting the process of authenticating my documents (degrees, teaching certificate, letter of experience). As a model student would do, I did my research. I mulled over posts in the blogs I'm a member, used the resources at my finger tips (Google) as I always tell my students. I learned the general steps: Secretary of State Authentication U.S. Department of State  UAE Embassy Yep sounds easy, got it! Haha! Not at all! Continuing on with my research, I head to the Alabama Secretary of State website and see what is needed from me to gain the beautiful seal of authentication. Yea....add some steps above that...documents must be notarized and signed by the probate judge of the county in which the notary is located. Ok...cool, let's move on to the probate judge site and make sure they don't need anything special. Of course they do! The documents MUST be notarized by a notary of the institution who granted document of authentication! Excuse me, what?! SO I have to...

Who are you, what are you doing here, and what is your purpose?!

Don't you just hate when someone says "tell me about yourself"? How do you answer such a question? If you're like me, and your mind runs faster than the speed of light (299,792,458 m/s), you start thinking well:  My birthday is Feb. 22 My favorite color is purple I despise repeating myself I love food, music, and fashion! Then I say to myself no, no, no! Think deeper, then I process things like: What did I want to be when I grew up? What changed this? Am I happy with my life personally, and professionally? Am I making my mark on this planet? What is my purpose? What am I passionate about? I always come up empty handed, and saddened so I go with the generic things like "my birthday is_____" etc. This was me last summer. I was asked the tell me about yourself, and pushed the deeper thoughts, the soul stirring questions that need answers to the back of my mind, as they scare me. We humans are creatures of habit, rarely every like change, and find ...
