The Unemployed Life

I grew so much at my school, personally and professionally. I usually shoo the seniors away on graduation as I help out with distributing diplomas, but this year...no, no, nooooo...I cried with them, I hugged them tight, and of course wished them well! I actually had to leave after my duties were over, when I'd usually stick around and take pics!

I was such a mess, I had to do something to get my mind off it. A random trip to Atlanta to hang with the guys was the perfect opportunity, at the right moment! I enjoyed myself Memorial Day weekend in ATL!

May 26, 2015 3:15 pm, I said goodbye to my first REAL professional job. It was a very bittersweet moment. Or so I thought! I've been up to the school to help my nephew get an interview (which he aced his audition, and gained admittance!), I've assisted with administrative duties, I've assisted with Freshman Orientation, and I even gave a talk (WITH Powerpoint presentation) to the parents at the newly enrolled student seminar! I just can't seem to stay away! No, in all seriousness, my principal gave me a chance four years ago, stating she saw something in me...a fresh-out of college student (granted it was with my Master's), with no education background. I feel indebted to her for bestowing upon me, the opportunity to touch so many lives (and for them to touch mine). So wherever, and whenever she needs my help, I am always ready and willing to assist!

Enough of the sappy stuff! Mom came down to visit, and it was just in time for her birthday! I took her and my great-aunt (I call her Aintie) to breakfast at this quaint little bakery called Shashy's (the food was good!), then a road trip (spoiled by Aintie) up I-65 to a vineyard for wine tasting. Of course on the way back they "hinted" at going to the casino, so we made a stop there. I played my $20 and stopped! My Aintie won money, and my mom did too.

I thought I'd be doing a lot of travelling this summer, but since I've decided to keep my car until December, I had to pay my insurance. Since I pay 6 months at a time, that took a HUGE chunk out of my finances (it does not pay to be a speeder!). I had to make my own entertainment while still here, sooooo I found this couch at a local thrift store for $50 (I always wanted a cute seating area in my bedroom so I'm not lying in bed all day). Yea, I know I won't be here much longer to enjoy it, but hey!
Pink doesn't go wit my room (grey, purple black and white), so I purchased some fabric spray paint to make it black. I'm on can number 10 and still need more! But it is coming along very well! Oh I made those curtains myself as well!

I am no good when I'm bored! LOL I also decided to get some braids. Please understand, I have not had braids since 2005! I was scared, but I was so over my hair! I must say they came out cute, and were done for a VERY reasonable price!
I am currently home (NY) for a few weeks. I was able to enjoy the 4th in Brooklyn, and it was fun--good music, food, and drinks! I miss being home! I'm glad my sissy-poo decided to come hang with me for the day! Nothing like fireworks in the middle of the street in Brooklyn!

I will be going to see Kevin Hart on Thursday and I am sooo excited...I know I won't make it to FL before I leave. But since I'm road tripping it back to AL, I will visit family in VA and friends in NC on the way back. I'm really trying to scrounge up the funds to see my friend in Vancouver, BC before I head out.

Speaking of leaving...the Facebook group is in a major frenzy! I find it comical, and everytime I say I'm going to stop checking some new juicy event happens, today, tickets started to roll out, the mayhem has begun! I though, will continue to communicate with HR at my school, and live life stateside! Until next time (I'll try not to go so long without a post)!
